Can someone please give me the run-down on this light, which I narrowly passed by at a BassPro shop an hour ago because I wanted to wait for some reviews. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/st…007000_325-7-0 Haven’t heard much about this one, but the sales guy seemed to think if it was good and throwy enough of a light for deer hunting in deep forests then it will surpass my expectations. Would this be a good duty light for security work? BTW, the light seems to have changed from the one a year ago, advertised at 400 lumens. This new one supposedly is brighter somehow… http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/…=224511&page=2

One last thing before I pull the trigger on an AAA or AA ITP, Maratac, Quark, nitecore et al:…the low lumen for me is very important…some go down to 1, others around 10…what would be the right amount of low lumens for reading a menu in a dark restaurant…something that lights up the menu, but not the table…:)

I’m looking for a small diameter (under 12-13mm) multi-mode driver for small lights and tight places that 17mm drivers won’t fit. Preferably under $20. Are there any at DX I missed?

Despite the leak though, those Duracell batteries were still powering the remote. I only found out that they were leaking when I wanted to swap the dead batteries in the VCR remote* with the batteries in this TV remote. *The VCR remote had Rayovacs which were dead to the point where they wouldn’t even power the remote but they didn’t leak.

was called in to wire a salt generator control panel for a pool company…1 problem though….there is no pool bond wire in the pump room where the salt generator is going…which means the pump isnt bonded and theres no telling what else….the pool company was just going to run a bond wire to tie the salt generator to the pump and stop it there……what are some other options without destroying the pool deck to try and find the bond…..?

We know that with Ohms Law V=IR and in a circuit all 3 of these are present. What about where a circuit has induced voltage on it? For instance the secondary of an open transformer? Across the secondary of a transformer you will read different voltages depending where on the coil you take a reading thus implying a voltage drop across the coil. Obviously the coil will have a resistance associated with it, but with no current due to an open secondary, how is this voltage drop viewed? I understand how in concept this secondary works, just wanted to hear thoughts on applying this particular law to it.

so i just started to get all the pieces together for my dive light, my driver from George came yesterday so i got to get that all wired up … this is a thing of beauty …. and it pumps out some serious power to the SST chip.. with some emails back and forth to george i got it all together..he is at Task Led .com I still need to get it all put together in the light engine .. Here is a shot of the SST in the reflector from Deal Extrm i have the led Mounted into the lens , and I use aluminum Tape HVAC , to diffuse heat off of the Led , I am also going to add more heat sink stuff after i get the acrylic lens cut , and it Mounted into the light head .. front shot of the reflector … and a front shot of the Light head , the light head is a Black sched 80 drain fitting from Home Depot.. and its a perfect fit !! More pics to follow as I build this beast of a dive light I am diving here in Puget sound , Washington state , so our water temps here ar 52 deg.. once this head gets in the water It pretty much cools the heat coming off the Led to Zero.. The cold is absorbed through the PVC and then transfers to the Light engine .. like i said more pics soon for all to see …
